Problems starting the car?

well, i went on my break, I stopped by MCD's for like 10 minutes, then I started my car it stopped working...

My friend came over to give a jump, but it did not work

I can hear that the car starts, but I also hear a noise coming from the battery even though lights and radio were turning on, same noise as when the battery is discharged.

My car is old, is a 1995 ford explorer...

what can it be? should I buy a new battery?

I really need help, school starts next week and I cant be without my car to drive!!!

  1. What did you order from MCD"s?Was it good?

  2. your battery might have a bad cell and this would require replacing it before it leaves you stranded again.

  3. you might have a bad connection to the battetry but i think that if the batter was bad the car wouldnt get anyhting at all. when u get teh car started take the posative connection off the battery. . .  if the car stays on the altanator is good, if it cuts off the altanator is bad, or just got disconnected itself.

or once you get it running take it to autozone or someplace that can test it for free.

    Thats my opinion on it.

  4. It could be your alternator. Your alternator is what charges your battery when your car is on. If your alternator isn't working, then your battery won't work either. It sounds like your battery works since you still had radio. That was just my opinion. Hope it works.
