  1. You have not given enough information to give you assistance... but here goes:

It depends on what kind of camera it is.

If it is a real camcorder using

MiniDV tape: You need to connect with a Firewire cable from the DV port of the camera to the firewire port of your computer and import with MovieMaker (Windows) or iMovie (Macintosh). USB will not work.

Hard drive or flash memory card: You need to connect with a USB cable from the USB port on the camcorder to the USB port of the computer and copy the files. Bring into MovieMaker (Windows) or iMovie (Macintosh). For iMovie, you will need to download and install StreamClip (free) from Apple.com downloads area.

DVD based camcorder: Place the finalized DVD in the drawer loading DVD drive of your computer and rip the DVD using HandBrake. You may also need ISOBuster. NEVER put a minidisc in a slot loading optical drive - you will break the drive and scratch the disc.

Analog camcorder (Hi8 or VHS-c): Using the AV cables, connect the camcorder to an analog/digital bridge (Pinnacle Dazzle for USB or Canopus for firewire). You can use this same method for DVD camcorders if you do not have a drawer loading DVD drive on your computer. You can use this same method for miniDV tape camcorders if you do not have a firewire port on your computer. You can use this same method for hard drive or flash based camcorders if you do not have a USB port on your computer.

  2. ok.

1.Check if you camera is working.

2.the USB port on your PC might be to old o damaged.Try plugging it in to another NEWER PC.

3.Some cameras have to be turned off or to a certain setting before they are connected.

4.Check the manual to make sure you are doing everything right.

5.if nothing else works you can go to an internet cafe and upload you video there and burn it to a DVD.

    hope this helps,Gooood Luck

  3. I'm sorry but there isn't an easy quick way to do that. Your camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder.

  4. What kind of camera is it?

if it comes with software, you may need to install it first.

Also you may need to switch the camera to transfer mode for it to connect to the PC

  5. firewire cable. to capture footage you need a firewire cable because usb doasnt go fast enough for the computer to get all the audio/visual information.

  6. try changing a setting, if it says it not picking up something, then it is, it just cant read it, or something is stopping it from working properly, try changing settings on your computer. you may have a firewall on your computer or a setting on the camera that is stopping it from transmitting the pics to the computer.
