Problems using IE to connect to my server. I get error 401.2 when i try to access SharePoint?

I am using vmware fusion to run windows on my mac. it works just fine for just about everything but i am now designing pages for SharePoint 2007 and i cannot access sharepoint with Internet explorer (which we all know is a must when working with sharepoint). every time i try to access the page i get a 401.2 error (unauthorized). i looked the error up but the forum does not seem to work on my system. Is there anyone who can bypass this problem for me. I know it is related to IE and IIS and Cache password authentication but i dont know enought to fix it yet.

My feeling is that this is an IIS issue. If you are using a domain account for authentication you need to configure IIS to use Windows Intergrated Authorization.
