  1. You could do a pot luck like someone else suggested. But if not, just make spaghetti and salad and make some punch. the games shouldnt cost much money at all. get your balloons and streamers from the $ store.

  2. I don't think it's really done to throw a baby shower for yourselves, but could you ask a friend or parent to throw one for you -- letting them know you would provide food, etc.??  You can always send "e-vites" to cut down on the cost of invitations and if you don't want to spend a lot for food, maybe you could go to Costco or something like that.  Blow up a few balloons and get a few _simple_ prizes for the winners of games -- small candles or something like that.  You may spend a little, but I'm sure what you get will have more value than what you might spend.  Also, if you don't want duplicates or things you don't need, let people know on the e-vite where you are registered.  Hope this helps! :)

    ps

better yet, I like the above idea of potluck!

  3. As stated go to the Dollar Store get a few balloons, prizes, plates, cups, napinks, etc. See if friends and family are willing to bring a dish for possibly a cook out. Maybe you provide the meat and they could possibly bring pasta, drink and ice, veggie platter, etc.

  4. I am anti baby showers...they are basically just asking for presents...... I would never hold one!

You can't seriously hold a baby shower and not provide food and drinks for your guests....you just have to hope that if you choose to have one, that the value of the baby gifts outweighs the money you spend on the baby shower.

Alternatively....don't have a shower...people that love and care for you will help you out with gifts when the baby is born...especially if they know you are tight for cash......

Babies actually really don't need much.....so don't get too caught up on what you think you need......Most importantly, I pray that your baby arrives safely and is healthy.

    Good luck!

  5. Make it potluck.

  6. I suggest having like a car wash or garage sale or something to earn some extra cash, or get a job.

  7. Moms usually don't have their own baby showers; it is usually given by a friend or family member.  If you do a search online for "pregnancy"+Your City; you should be able to find organizations that can help you out with baby items.

  8. Well if there's a dollar store you can get a couble things from there, Then ask everyone to bring one or two things have two or three people bring  same thing if there's going to be alot of people ....... that should help alot ... but you never know maybe they are throwing you one.. and its a surprised... well good luck , and congrats....

  9. get a job.
