Question:

Problems with 2002 Nissan Sentra? Help!

When I started my car last night it started shaking really bad(the shaking stopped after I gave it gas) and started blowing white smoke out of the exhaust halfway down the road. This only lasted about five minutes and then I didn't see anymore smoke. When I tried to start it this morning it did the shaking thing again and then just died. Now it won't start at all. The engine is trying to turn over but it won't. The only other problem I have noticed lately is my coolant is mysteriously disappearing but there are no visible leaks underneath. I've filled it up twice in the past month and it is now below halfway full. I've checked the oil and battery but they were both fine. Any suggestions on what might be wrong? Thanks in advance.

  1. you have a blow head gasket. When gasket give out coolant leak inside cylinder head then you start up your engine and engine is burning up coolant which is white smoke coming out of your tail pipe. also, explain low coolant level.

  2. it might be the head gasket. sentras are know for that to happen. its really expensive to repair, so be prepaired to buy a new car

  3. hello,

I agree with the first answer.to make sure, remove the spark plugs from the engine.have someone to spin the key at start position for about a second or so.if you see coolant or so come from the spark plug hole then you will need to have the head gasket replace.
