Question:

Problems with Canon PowerShot A70, what is this?

I've had this digital photo camera for 5 years. A few months ago, these problems started and are still present. It seems the camera has problems adapting to light changes. Most of the times the image gets diformed, the pictures are taken cristal clear sometimes, but not always. It's terribly annoying me and I wonder, is there any way to fix this, should I press any buttons, but which ones? Can I get it anywhere to fix it? Or do I just need to buy a new camera?

Here's an example of 'broken' image:

  1. It sounds like a fault with the CCD, there was a canon free fix (if that is found to be the problem) for this and a few other models.  Contact canon in your country to find out about a repair.

Below is the european site page to give you some guidence.

  2. A 5 year old, 3MP camera is not worth fixing. Time to buy a new one. Canon have some very good cameras available...
