Question:

Problems with Canon PowerShot SX100 IS lens fogging over?

We recently went on a cruise and on two separate occasions the inner and outer lens fogged up. It would usually last for 5-15 minutes and would "dry" faster if placed in front of a fan. At one of the locations another person had the same camera and the same problem. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this or if there was a way to fix it. We thought there might be issues with the sealant around the lens. We have owned 1 other Canon and have never had this problem. Have contacted Canon and are awaiting a reply.

  1. If your camera is cold and you take it into a warm and humid room.  The lens will fog up.  Only some professional SLR lenses have weather seal.  Most of the point and shoot cameras will suffer from this problem.
