Problems with alpine headunit, its brand new just outta the box

i just got an alpine ida-x200 headunit and the ipod is not working with it (it was made for the ipod) everything works, it shows all the titles of songs and everything however when i select a song on the headunit, there is no sound, though it says it is playing the song, any idea of how to fix that?

  1. maybe U need to go into the alpine settings and turn the int mute off and check the other settings to make sure its not off,,still got the manual? go thru that,,, and check the prob. solving chart in the back to see if that helps,,,

If the radio plays, but external sources do not, then that may be a sign of a wiring error.  If your vehicle has a factory amplifier (or if you're using an after-market amp to run your speakers) then you'll need to connect the amp's activation wire to the blue/white wire at the head unit. You may have that wire connected to the solid blue (power antenna) wire instead.

    Try disconnecting whatever you currently have attached to the solid blue wire, and attach it instead to the blue/white wire.

    Are you using the iPod through the USB connection, or the blue iPod port?
