Problems with an online K12 teacher? HELP?

I have a certain teacher who is HORRIBLE.

I've had problems with her all year long.

I will email her back with a question, she will NEVER email me back and then she counts me off for not turning in on time, but I was waiting for her to answer my question. I miss out on extra credit points because she will not email me back in the time aloud for me to finish the assingment.

Would it be best for my mom to start emailing her and sending a blind copy to our adminstrator?

I have sent her 5 emails with the same question and she hasn't once emailed me back.

  1. I have had this problem with my English teacher. I couldn't decide for months whether she had a personal thing against me, or it was just back teaching! My emails and notes were not responded to for days, and occasionally she would not send back assignments on essay drafts in time for me to use that advice and get final drafts in on time--consequentially losing points for submitting late items.

The way I resolved this problem was to email my administrator, who then took it upon herself to email the principal. I don't see why a middleman like your parent is necessary--the administrators are very willing to take care of this problem, as it is part of their work. All they need to do is forward your message along; when the principal saw their name on the message, it became of higher importance. She gave me a call, I talked for less than a minute, and she wrote a quick note to the English teacher, who got back to me and apologized. I have not had (as many) problems with her in this second semester.

    Good luck!

  2. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's not professional. Call if she does not respond to your mom.

  3. Yes, I would say having your mom email her with a blind cc would be the best route.  Have her document in her emails how many times you've emailed and the problems you've had.

  4. The K12 teachers have about a day, or less, to respond to your emails.  I would have your mom email her from now on for you.  Start off not bcc'ing the admin and see if she emails your mom back.  If she doesn't respond to your mom's emails, then just flat out email the admin to complain.  Your mom should also let this teacher know how you and she feel about her lack of consideration and how she's incorrectly grading you due to it - and the points/work you've missed out on because of her.

Don't you ever get surveys about how your teacher's doing to fill out?  I do - and luckily I don't have problems with the teachers - I have problems with the admins of a few departments.
