Question:

Problems with browser redirects?

I am having a problem with my computer. I got some nasty spyware/malware, and I'm getting a lot of browser redirects. I can't access the Microsoft website, and whenever I click on a link on google, I get redirected to some other website, or an ad search. I already have Spybot S&D and AVG. Are there any reccomendations for fixing these problems, and where would they generally be hiding on my hard drive?

  1. Hi,

Download this one it will clean your troyans:

    http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_fr...

    good luck!

  2. Get SUPERAntiSpyware, I just fixed a computer at work using this today.

You can get it here: http://www.superantispyware.com/download...

The free version works great (it's what I used today)

After it's installed run a full scan, then it'll prompt you to restart (make sure to do that) then run the scan once more and you'll be golden.

  3. Go the Task Manger (CTR+DEL+ALT).  Click the Process Tab, suspicious process started by your username. Run the spywareprogram.  Go the Add/Remove and and uinstall the specious programs.

Or Restore your computer to previous date before the spyware  infection.  To do this go to: Start>All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore.

If that does not work.  Wipe out the sytem and re-install windows.
