Problems with car cd player?

I had just recently got a 2003 Chevy Impala and when i got home i found out that the cd player wouldnt work! I tried burnt cds and regular cds and neither would work it would say TRACK then it would spit the cd out and say CHECK CD. The past owners had a system in it the wires are still in my trunk and there is an amp hooked up. Maybe they did something when they were messing with that? Or maybe it needs cleaned? I would really like to know what is wrong!

  1. sounds like the laser is off of the servo, or mis aligned, needs to got to shop

  2. yea i agree with every one else.

this is a lense error. it might be dirty and needs to be clean.

stores like target, walmart and like those sell a "lense cleaner" kit in the music section. give those a try before sending the stereo for repairs.

its obiously not a wiring problem because the unit is capable of turning on and there is no cable that controls the stereo to read or not read a stereo, other than power acc and ground. but those are needed to turn on.

  3. Sounds like it needs to be cleaned to me.
