Problems with my 06 dodge stratus?

I was driving my brother to work, I had a little less then a quarter tank of gas. When I parked in the parking lot i was dipped down a little, now when I went to leave, my car started shaking back and forth like I wasn't getting any gas I was driving up a hill, and at my house I do have a very steep driveway. AAA came and put gas in my car, and the guy thought it was my fuel pump, then thought it was my battery, and it wasn't the battery so He thought it was the fuel pump again. But when the tow truck dropped my car off at my house, It started up, it shook a little then was fine and my gas was all the way up to half a tank! When i shut the car off and restarted it, it didn't shake. What's Going on? Is my car safe to drive because I really need it to be!! I'm wondering if my car always being on a hill like setting if it will mess with the position of my gas maybe?

  1. yeah it does sound like it did starve for gas as first answer said. through some injector cleaner in tank. Lucus makes a good product. I doubt is fuel pump

  2. you may have pulled air in between the pump and the lines that will cause it to do that,a lot of newer cars will do this, its best if possible to keep it above a 1/4 of a tank other wise this may happen more often, all it done probably was pull air instead of gas and cause it to momentarily vapor lock, once it got gas this problem cleared up,that's happened to us ,we own a 98 stratus and ours did this once, now we keep it above a 1/2 a tank and never have any problems from it,good luck .

  3. sounds like a fuel filter. first thing i would do is change it(alot of cars have 2) then dump some fuel injector cleaner in your tank.

  4. Keep the tank above 1/4. Sounds like you got some air in the system which will cause the problems you list. If it cleared itself, as it apparently did, you are ok. Fuel injected engines can not tolerate air in system.
