Problems with my Norton Internet Security

Question

When I open Internet Explorer i get this error message thing and the green bar turns red and says Fraud Monitoring is off. I try to repair the problem but it doesnt work. whats wrong with it?

Get McAfee Total Protection

its really good for antivirus and it doesnt mess up like that

i never need to do anything and it lets me know when somethings wrong and it fixes it itself. better than norton

Uninstall it.. and get avast.     www.avast.com.. its free and its good...

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support team.

If the Fraud monitoring feature in Norton Internet Security will not turn on, then you could have an infection or your installation of Norton Internet Security has become corrupted.

The first thing you should do is to open Norton Internet Security and click on "Run LiveUpdate" to ensure that you have the latest program and definition files applied.  After LiveUpdate is complete, restart your computer in Windows Safe Mode, launch Norton, and then perform a "Full System Scan." to check for infections.

After the scan is complete, and if infections were found, follow the instructions for either removing the infection or quarantining the infected file(s).  After the scan has completed, reboot into normal Windows mode, open Norton and see if the problem is resolved.  If the problem still exists, please follow the steps below to properly uninstall and reinstall Norton Internet Security.

1. Click on the following link to download the Norton Removal Tool:

2. After you run the tool, please restart your computer. Then log in to Windows again and run the removal tool again. Restart your computer after it is finished running the second time as well.

3. Make sure that your internet connection is working properly, and then reinstall Norton Internet Security. Towards the end of the installation process, the LiveUpdate feature will automatically run and download and install updates to both the program files and definition files.

4. When the installation is complete, please manually run LiveUpdate to make sure that all of the updates are downloaded and applied. To do so, Click Start-> All Programs->Norton Internet Security->LiveUpdate. LiveUpdate will run again and download and install any additional updates that are available. When this is complete, close the LiveUpdate window by clicking the "Finish" button.

5.  Open Norton Internet Security and perform a "Full System scan" once again.

Use Firefox instead see if you get the same problem.
