Problems with my central nerous system.....?

when i was a kid i needed physical therapy and occupational; therapy, i understand about physical therapy but not occupational thepery , maybe because i was born premature??? for adults, how does occupational; therapy apply in tears of a trement...when i was a kid i had to put shapes in a box which had symbols of the shapes ....

  1. In the adult population, OT has a couple of different avenues.  First, most "hand therapists" are OTs.  They focus on patients who have had surgical procedures to the hand or various other hand and elbow related disorders.  Fine motor coordination and function are typical things to address.  

    In other settings, OT focuses on the tasks that people need to do for day to day living such as getting dressed, taking a bath, preparing a meal.  OTs that especially work inpatient rehab help patients regain these skills.  Upper extremity function, coordination and staning tolerance are some examples of these that may need to be addressed with this population.
