i am having problems with my clutch im not sure if its time for it to go or not, every time i drive it after 10-15 mins i start to hear grinding from 2nd to 3rd and when i down shift to 2nd, but when i go slow enough (20 mph) and up shift to 3rd i hear no grinding. but after awhile i noticed it doesnt make the grinding right away it takes it a little while till i start to notice it grinding. and every once in awhile it is pretty hard to put it into 1st gear but sometimes its not

  1. The 1G DSM (Talon, Laser, and Eclipse ) vehicles with manual transmissions had some plastic bushings in the tranny that would wear out and cause problems in shifting. The tranny needs a rebuild.

  2. i dont think its your transmission it could be your front cv joints the bairings are going they will make a grinding noise like SHWIT ShWIT ...SHWIT sound when your taking off when you go fast the sound might go away get it checked out feel the front wheels after you drive it.. if there hot  it could be a brake pad
