Problems with my hard drive?

I have a 500gb internal hard drive memory when i set it up and booted it up i only had 20gb on drive c and 108gb on drive d.

i reset it up and reinstalled windows and repartioned the drive but now i only have one drive c and its set on 20gb i dont know where the other drive has gone or what has happened to it. or where the rest of the memory has gone.

can someone please help me out on this.

  1. first, if you are using an old motherboard (and by old i meen a few years) your BIOS might not support that much hard drive space.

    in that case i would think about flashing (upgrading) your BIOS.

    second, i dont know if you are wanting 1 or 2 partitions but i would boot-up DOS from some place (other than the hard drive) and use this command a t the prompt; "fdisk" then remove all of the partitions, then create the partitions, then format them, then reboot.


  2. Simple, upgrade your service pack!

    I had a similar problem to yours! Win XP SP1 wont recognise hard drives over 120GB, once you upgrade to SP2 (better yet SP3), your full hard drive will be shown!
