Problems with my new phone?

I just got the Samsung Alias SCHu740 (I ordered it) and it came in the mail. Whenever I open it, I get this message saying " INITIAL PROGRAMMING REQUIRED" and below it shows a little phone with an x over the antenna. What do I do to get rid of this? and How do I transfer numbers from my old phone? Because I got an email saying do not cancel your old service. Please help me I would greatly appreciate it! <33

You cannot solve this problem yourself, you have to go the nearest shop of your provider to sort it out.

you have to take the phone in to verizon in to activate it. this is the exact message i got on the phone when i was playing arounmd with it before the verizon people activated it for me.
