hi, i just replaced the voltage regulator on my motorcycle and the lights and everything were working fine. Then a few days later i turned on the bike and the headlight, signal lights, and neutral light did not turn on! The bulbs were good, and this kind of thing happened once before but then went back to normal. I was able to get the headlight to come back on by detaching and reattaching the headlight relay while the engine was on. But the rest of the lights dont work (except for the tail, license plate and oil level lights)

oh and i did check the fuses and wiring under the seat for the most part and they all look okay

to check grounds, where should i look? how do i go about checking for main ground wires?

  1. Try and locate the manual.  It will be of much help.  You could also phone the Yamaha Service Station and ask for advice.

  2. Could be a deffective ignition switch.

When the lights go out, check both sides of every fuse with a test light.

The fuse box gets it's power from the ignition switch.

  3. well lets do some basics, find the multi plug connections in your wiring harness. squirt with wd40 to get rid of powdery corrosion.dont pull apart unless your willing to hand solder them.inspect harness for bare wire. good luck sherlock.
