Ok while playing games on my 32 inch LCD TV (ONN from ASDA) i keep experiancing problems while playing recent games such as GTA IV, MGS4 and the Battlefield: Bad Company demo. While watching cutscenes i can hear all thr background noise but things such as characters talking can not be heard.

On GTA IV i fixed this by turning the audio from surround sound to stereo but i cannot do this on the other 2 games. I tried turning off the surround sound on the TV but it does not work. Any help?

  1. You don't tell us how you transfer audio to the TV.

If you use HDMI, make sure the gaming device is set to send PCM (not Dolby Digital or bit stream)

Regular, stereo RCA cables should work just fine.

  2. i've had this problem before, if you are using surround sound make sure that the centre speaker is connected and the cable has not fallen out by accident, as this will cause all the background noise to come through the remaining 4 speakers, but all the main sound such as peoples voices will not come out of the centre speaker.
