Problems with painting over peeling paint?

Im painting my bathroom and having some problems. The current paint is peeling and rough. What kind of preparation do i need to take so that when i use my primer and paint the old peeling paint wont show through?

  1. You should use a paint scraper and sand paper and then prime it.


  2. you  have to scrape  off  the  old  paint  and  sand  it  off before you can  paint..........or  else  it  will  peel  off  too.

  3. Scrape the old paint off, sand the walls, and then start your project. Wear a mask though while you're scraping!

  4. Unfortunately you will have to use a 4 stage procedure:

    Scrape the loose paint from the wall, sand it to a smoothe finish then prime it and paint it.

    You may want to be sure that you have no water damage that could be causing the paint to peel.
