about little less than a month ago i got verizons i also got their wire and maintance plain. meaning if something goes wrong there is know charge .people told me they have tried to call me and got a busy signal. and i also have know dial tone, i called them and they said go out side in the box.what does that mean. when the first repair man came he went in side the phone box put his phone inside the box and we got a dail tone.then he went inside the house and put the phone in the jack and got a dail tone.it worked for a couple of weeks.so i called verizons and he said if the problem is a pre- assiting problem their will be a charge rather i have the maintance plain or not. he said you can go inside your box and find that out. can someone explain this to me.

  1. it could be your phones that are locking up the phone line. when you go out to the NID (Network interface device) you can unplug a test jack and use a good working phone to test the line. if you have dial tone at the test jack and you go back in the house and there is no dial tone. you need to unplug all the phones. then plug one phone in at a time. there will be one that will lock it up. that is the bad one.

  2. Totally your cellphone doesn't have any wrong.

    Okay i have one too:

    if you want here...

    Open your cellphone.

    to set the Master Volume

Volume is the left side when you hold your phone there's arrows.

in your cell phone have 4 arrows in between must be name "OK"

okay hit that right arrow....go to name...SETTING & TOOLS

scrol down to number ...4. Sounds Settings.. hit that "OK" ... then scrol down to number....4. Keypad Volume.... hit "OK", because your keypad volume is "off", if you want sounds .. to set the keypad Volume  hit the left side to master volume to set the keypad volume to higher sounds,

    set  then hit "OK".

e-mail me if you didn't get what i meant.

  3. sounds like you have a defective telephone... or something else inside your home...

perhaps you are one of the people who think the Ethernet port of a computer is a dial up modem... if you plug a line cord into your Ethernet adapter in your computer you will also cause a trouble like the one you describe...
