We will install backer board but we need to know how to cut them along the walls and tub to make it look good. Do we use a tile saw or just nippers? They are attached with mesh thats 12x12. We are having trouble finding info on this perticular procedure. Can anyone help?

  1. A couple of choices.. Buy  a cheap hand cutter and practice 1 st  on how to use it and make all the straight cuts that way.. Buy a nicer hand if you plan on another tile job so you can reuse it.. Some of the cheaper models won t last long.. Buy a wet saw and do all the cuts on that.. You can get them for under 100 $ and reuse them over and over but the smaller ones won t handle the larger floor tiles, but will easily do your 2x2.. Or have everything ready to go and rent a wet saw from any rental place.   Doing your floor and then setting whatever base(floor board, wood or ceramic) on top will also allow for not so perfect cuts along the wall to be hidden and making for a cleaner , better look  .. Check for room squareness and maybe  you ll be able to use 1 wall or tub area as a starting point,,This wont always work but it s a possibility.Lay out your tile 1st "dry" and see how it looks , adjusting as needed..You than guess approx how many loose tile s you ll need to pull off the netting to be all ready.. Dont pre cut tiles this won t always work.. GL
