Procedure for releasing autopsy?

Is it legal for the information to be given to the deceased sibling? And would the person (whomever is recieving the info) have to show some sort of I.D. or proof of identity?

  1. autopsy results you mean? i believe they are only available to immediate family   ex). husband/wife, guardian, etc. immediately, then are available to the public if you contact your county attorneys office, ask about requesting copies. They take several weeks to fully complete usually. In unique circumstances, like a homicide, they can take much longer, drug/substance testing, biopsies, DNA analysis, etc. is a very time consuming process and has to be done exactly step by step, no guess work. You see this with a lot of high profile cases.
