Procedure of Tennis?

What is the procedure of tennis tryouts? I know you play against people but do you compete with the people on the team or someone who's also trying out? How many people do you need to play? Also, can you just come to watch the tryouts and then try joining later on or would it be too late?

  1. Tennis try outs..at my high school the coach made us

run laps around the track, stretching exercises, footwork drills, suicides, forehand/backhand/lob or overhead smash drills. Practicing hitting with a partner. Practice matches single/doubles. I would say about 50-60 people try out. Then there is a cut.  You might try talking to the tennis coach before hand and ask him some of these questions like what you should do to get ready, best way to prepare.

You shouldn't join later because it might be too late and miss your chance.

If you have no previous experience try to get private lessons before this time. Maybe just 1 or 2 to get the basics down. Or you can see if your local University has tennis camps for your age group. This will help.

    Good luck!

This takes place over a period of 3-5 days every school is different.
