1) Apply to said school.

2) If accepted they will send your information to be entered on the SEVIS system.

3) Once entered, the school will receive an I-20 for you.

4) The school then mails the I-20 and acceptance letter of to you.

This can take 4-8 months, so it is always advised the start the process at least 12 months prior to when you wish to commence your studies in the U.S, because you will still need to book and attend an interview at the U.S. Embassy and there could be delays either on their end or with the postal service. It pays to apply well advanced.
