Processed foods?

how do you know when a food is or isnt processed when shopping.. what can you look for?

  1. Processed in what way?  Canned?  Frozen?  Injected with broth?  If you're looking at meat, the package will tell you whether it's been injected.  Canned or frozen is obvious.  Flour has been ground; otherwise, it would just be wheat.  It's also been bleached, usually.  If it's not bleached, it's aged.  Raisins have been dried, nuts often roasted -- it's all processing.


  2. These days not much food is not processed.

    Fresh fruits and vegetables usually are not.

    Other than that most everything else is in some way or another.
