Processor Cache???? HELP PLEASE?

What is it and which one of these are better? THanks

1:Processor Cache=512KB+512KB L2

System Bus = 1600 MHZ

OR

2: Processor Cache=2MB L2

System Bus 667MHz FSB

Are these "numbers" good for a new laptop computer? thanks

  1. These numbers are good for laptops. The Cache + System Bus factors pretty much makes the two equal. Some might say the 2nd processor is better while others might like the other.

    The more Cache the better isn't always true. You will need a good System Bus to read that Cache either way or else it'll bottleneck. Thats why I think they are both the same after you factor in the System Bus and the Cache TOGETHER.

  5. Everything else being equal, doubling the cache will give you approximately 10% increase in productivity. Most laptops can do everything for most peoples needs. Unless you are using professional applications like autocad or maya, a rugged 9 cell (battery capacity) laptop is more than adequate. Increases in productivity for the average user has marginally increased in the last five years. It takes more time for the hdd to load up on a laptop then anything else. If you want to have a speedy laptop, get a 7200rpm hdd.
