Prodigality to shine in Ladbrokes Bingo Handicap at Doncaster
The Ronald Harris-trained Prodigality is a progressive sprinter with a lot to offer in the Ladbrokes Bingo Handicap, being held at Doncaster on Thursday, September 13th. The 4-year-old has plenty of potential, and can bounce back from his soft-ground
loss at Ffos Las.
Prodigality has been performing quite consistently since the start of this season. After facing a couple of narrow defeats, the son of Pivotal turned things around, and sealed a comfortable win at Brighton last month.
Under Darren Egan, the 2-1 chance travelled very well, and chased the leading runners over 1f out. He shifted his gears to challenge the leader inside the final furlong.
His hard work paid off in the final 75 yards, when he got his head in front. With the help of a fantastic finish, the maverick gelding secured the top rank by two lengths in the Talk To Victor Brighton Bullet Handicap.
Owned by Paul Moulton, the dashing runner was an unlucky loser at Ripon, where he missed the gold medal only by a short head’s distance in the William Hill Silver Trophy Handicap (Consolation Race for the William Hill Great St Wilfrid Stakes).
Another unlucky loss came to his way at Ffos Las last time. The conditions were testing, but still he ran decently to notch up the second position behind Khubala in the Totepool Mobile Text TOTE To 89660 Handicap. The surface is good at Doncaster, thus one
can easily expect to improve despite a 4lb rise.
The class 3 meeting has attracted a line-up of 22 horses, who will be in search of a cash prize worth £9,704. The plan is to start the 6-furlong affair at 16:05 GMT.
Goldream is also in good shape these days. Luca Cumani’s charge was last seen at Newmarket, where he beat Last Sovereign by a short head’s distance. Since the 3-year-old is in fine rhythm, he will be a threat to Prodigality.
On the other hand, Amadeus Wolfe Tone is unlikely to justify his high odds. His inconsistency is a massive concern. According to our calculations, Goldream is the only one, Prodigality should be cautious of. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
