Prodigy Zoe favourite for the Grade A6 Flat Race at Hall Green – Preview
Hall Green is all set to host some exciting greyhound action on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. The meeting will start with a 480 metres Grade A6 Flat Race with a prize money of £89.
Prodigy Zoe will start the race as favourite, as she has been awarded a starting price of 15 to 8 by the bookmakers. The reason for that is her consistent performances since making debut in the sport.
The two-year-old b***h has won three races at Hall Green and will be confident of adding more victories to that tally.
Her last race did not prove to be a very good one, as she only managed a fifth place finish.
Prodigy Zoe went into that event with a starting price of 4 to 1 and she was not the favourite. The competition was very tough for her, as the other participants were extremely good runners.
Despite that, the G. Ballentine trained hound gave a tough time to her competitors. Her speed was good enough to match the front runners, but a couple of mistakes cost her dearly in the end.
Things will not be the same for her this time around, as her trainer has worked extremely hard to bring an improvement in her.
The favourite b***h is the daughter of Balintore Brave out of Watch The Signal, born in September 2010.
Another greyhound expected to make an impression in the race today is Martins Flyer.
He has been given a starting price of 5 to 2 by the bookmakers, despite his inconsistent performances in the past few races.
Martins Flyer will be looking to turn things around this time around, as victories have dried up for him recently. He finished fifth in the last race he took part in, but still managed to earn some confidence of the bookmakers.
The punters will be a bit hesitant outing their money on S. Whitehouse’s hound, but he can cause an upset today.
Much will depend on how he starts the race, as it always counts in a short distance event.
Martins Flyer is the son of Melodys Pat out of Slip The Posse, and was born in October 2009.
Midland Miss and Fabulous Chilli have been awarded a starting price of 4 to 1. Both will be eying a victory at Hall Green, as they have been struggling to finish on top in some of their previous races.
Interestingly, both b*****s have got quite a similar record over the past few months and one more common thing between them is their ability to surprise everyone.
They have the potential to win and thus, will be eying a change in fortunes at Hall Green today.
Beatthebag, trained by G. Bakewell, is one of the least expected to make an impression today. He will enter the race with a starting price of 9 to 2, but that certainly does not mean that he cannot end up on top of the table.
Last but not the least is S. Deakin’s trained b***h, Anns Vote, who has been given a starting price of 14 to 1. She might not have a very good record recently, but has the potential to cause an upset.
The overall competition will be quite interesting and it will not be easy for any hound to win.
