Help!

That's copper added to silver acetate.

I can balance it myself (I'd rather do that, because I need to practice), but I can't figure out the product.

I was doing great until I got to this problem.

  1. When copper is added to silver acetate solution, the silver will come

    out of solution and be replaced by copper (cupric) acetate; the

    reaction equation is:

    Cu + 2AgC2H3O2 → Cu(C2H3O2)2 + 2Ag↓

    The silver precipitates out and the solution turns blue with the

    hydrated copper(II) ions present.

    It's called a single replacement reaction.

  2. Reginald's answer is correct..Also , this reaction will be limited in scope because Ag acetate has a maximum solubilityof 0.25 moles /liter ( Ksp = 6.14 X 10^-2 ).
