I'm looking into a "Production Writer" job at an advertising company. Any idea of what this might be? I have a background in film (which has a writing aspect to it). From the job description I get a lot of liaisons with different departments of the company and some with the client. But still not entirely sure of what this is

  1. ok, i'm not sure myself, but probably along the lines of a staff writer, you all work together to write a script/screen play for advertising??  But here'a a question for YOU...  I'm looking to sell a true story I have to someone for a book deal or movie/documentary, where would i turn??  It's all true with lots of stuff to back up the story, no fluff here.  i have to be careful so I don't get screwed b/c this is a great story - it spans over multiple continents thru 35+ years etc... any ideas b4 i post a general question?? you sound like someone who might know...

  2. Technical and.or production writers are usually writing in an industrial and/or business capacity.  Document writing, manual writing, help guides, standard operating procedures.  The job is to write technical content in a way that is clear and precise, and that the average user/employee (or whoever the audience is) can understand.  (also known as subject matter experts)

    Good luck.
