Proector image is dim

Question

the image is dim, but when I replaced the bulb with a good one (bright bulb) it was still dim.When I tried the bulb in a "good" projector the image was bright but it "flickered".I updated the "firmware" on the projector, it changed nothing.Is it the bulb or another component? Is there such a thing as a video card on the projector?
