Professional Lego Blocks?

Question

I make art in different ways then most. I bought a 30 dollar racing game just to be amazed by the outstanding paint program that it came with. I would like to know if there were any type of professional blocks / building blocks like egos. The smaller the better and a retail store like walmart and k-mart would be good. thanks

Why not just use Lego brand building blocks? Seems like they would be the most apt to provide you with whatever you might need.
