  1. defenatley! walking 18 holes in the blistering heat. Juniors have to carry our own bags in tournaments (sometimes weigh as much as they do), and then worrying about where your ball is and thinking about your next shot. Say you have a putt 3ft. from the hole and wheather you make it or not determines if you win millions of dollars, endorsments, and publicity. oh yeah they break a sweat! it's just more of a quiter sport.

  2. You must not watch too much golf.  You think that a golfer isn't going to sweat at a tournament in Memphis in June or any tournament in the summer?  It's hot every where in the summer.

  3. You've NEVER seen them break a sweat? Then you're simply not watching. Most pros carry an extra shirt in their bag that they change into on the back 9.

Besides, where in the definition of the word 'athlete' did you see the words sweat or perspiration?

Golf is a game, so maybe golfers are gamers.

I really don't know what you are driving at. Do you have a point you are trying to make?

  4. You never see a swimmer sweat either. Golfers walk anywhere from 3 to 5 miles daily, they are gifted athletes at the top of their game. Grab a set of clubs, walk 18 holes and shoot a 65.... bet you can't do it.

  5. You must not golf.  They are gifted athletes with a sense of timing and balance that few posses.

  6. In my opinion, they are a different type of athletes. A type who could never be compared to a football or basketball athlete.

I mean, i can't see a thing like this happening:

b player: wow.. I was soooo tired after my basketball practice..

g player: basketball? you should see me after golf!

    lol

  7. ive seen them sweating up a storm..... play in Tulsa in July and your gonna be sweating.

  8. Some pro golfers would thrive in more strenuous sports.

Tiger - Padraig - Casey - Stenson are all very fit guys.

Others like Montgomerie - Daly - Mickelson perhaps wouldn't.

And who can forget Gary Player - probably the 1st golfer who truly understood the importance of stretching/fitness.
