Question:

Professional or Pro at a golf course?

I am 14 years old and have already got some offers for being a pro at a few courses but i would rather try out to be a professional on the PGA. What should I do?

  1. Funny, I doubt Tiger Woods would have qualified at 14 to be a PGTAA certified golf professional.  Maybe, though.  However, golf courses don't offer 14 yr olds jobs as pros.

    Based on the info in your question, I don't think, you can even break 100.

    To be PGTAA ceritfied, you have to post at least 4 "attested" rounds of 83 or better on "championship" level courses (6,000 yds or more) and provide the scorecards with 3 other players' scores on the same card and signed by the local PGA pro.  That's just for starters.

    So, what should you do?  Practice!

  3. If you are going to have an active fantasy life at age 14, go for the whole thing -- dream of playing on tour. It's a much better lifestyle.
