Nicholas W. Wilson, a professional wrestler who is better known as Nick Gage will be sentenced for bank robbery on 29
April, 2011.
Gage surrendered himself to the police on the afternoon of 31 December, 2010 in Collingwood, New Jersey.
The wrestler was involved in a robbery at a branch of Pittsburgh National Corporation Bank that is based in Collingwood. The incident happened on 22
December, 2010 and the wrestler was found guilty on 15 March, 2011 at the Superior Court of Camden. He was charged with a second-degree count of bank robbery which means he will be sentenced for ten to twenty years in state prison.
A spokesman for the office of Camden County Prosecution, Jason Laughlin was uncertain about whether Gage had pleaded for an appeal or not. Wilson can receive a lesser sentence as he had admitted his fault. According to the police, Gage has admitted to running
away from the bank with almost three thousand dollars.
Wilson said that he had been battling with drugs and some pain killing prescriptions for the last ten years. It seems that his wrestling career has come to an end now with situation developed in the recent months of his life.
Nick represented Combat Zone Wrestling that is an independent wrestling circuit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is popular for its brutal matches. He had never realised that he was popular in the community until his picture was identified by the police
with the help of his fans during the inspection. His fans identified his photo and Gage said, “I guess I didn’t realize how popular I was until the photos came out.”
Gage used to spend most of his income for the intake of drugs and now he wishes for his release not to wrestle inside the ring, but to fight against the drugs. He is waiting for the sentence in the Camden County Jail. Nick felt sorrowful and admitted that
he had done the robbery only for his drug habits and his punishment could be reduced, allowing him to get into some rehabilitation for his issues.
