  1. Alot of retail, lecturer, bar work, anything arty...

Theres alot of things really. And pretty much anything that means you don't have to have contact with clients of the public.

Most jobs are fairly accepting of tattoos, and most can be hidden anyway.

  2. Most professions do.  Now, if you have a job that like working for the state or government (police, military, etc) there are regulations that the tattoo must be able to be covered up when wearing the standard uniform, and also small enough to be covered up with you're hand.

Most professions will let you have tattoos, depending on where they are.  If they're concealed with proper clothing...then I don't think its a problem for any job.  However, if you have a tattoo on your forehead, you're possibilities decrease, because it doesn't seem professional.

  3. Prostitution, Sideshow workers, BarMaids to name a few

  4. All depends on the environment you're working in. I don't think any job 'allows' tattoos (well, except tattoo and piercing studios) but most places normally have a policy on what's acceptable. Obviously, once you have a tattoo, it's not like the boss can order you to remove it like a piercing, so they would either state that you have to have visible tattoos covered or only cover 'offensive' ones. Some places are ok with them. Call centres tend not to mind, but if for example you were a lawyer then it wouldn't look professional to show your tattoos. I see loads of bar staff with tattoos on their arms. Yeah, at the end of the day it's discrimination but we chose to do these things to ourselves and have to deal with the fact that the mainstream isn't fully accepting yet, and probably never will be. The Modified Mind Employment Line is a cool resource of where allows tattoos/piercings/crazy hair colours.

I'm afraid I've no tattoos myself yet, however I have facial piercings and people seem to be more averse to them (tattoos don't stop you working with food, piercings do). I'm a fulltime student but starting a temping job at a bank on Monday data cleansing and I'll be wearing retainers.

  5. I have tattoos and I am a college lecturer...

  6. You can do anything with tattoos.  Some jobs just make you cover them up.  I work in an office and I have tattoos.  Ask you're boss.  Or dress conservatively on an interview and when you get the job, ask about their policy later.  You would be amazed at professionals that have tattoos.  Don't listen to these idiots telling you only s***s and bar whores and strippers and street walkers have tattoos.  Check out this website/book...

  7. Tattoo artist, prostitution, piercer, barmaid, burglar....

  8. my teacher had both arms covered in tattoos, he even talked to us about the significance of each one..so im guessing you might be able to get away with it if you are a teacher.

  9. Well I am from Austin Texas and a lot of people have tattoos there. I know there are even certain places that it ads charachter to the place. Like Kerby lane its a 24 hour cafe by the downtown. So if you have one of those. I know people at Amys Ice Cream Does. And it also depends where you have them. Waitressing jobs at nicer restarunt would be fine as long as you can cover them up and their hidden under long pants and a long sleever shirt.
