Profile/Avatar Question - "Yahoo! Photos is now closed."?

I'm trying to upload a new avatar to my yahoo profile, and it just says Yahoo! Photos is now closed. It refers me to flickr - fine. I already have a flickr account, but there is no option to upload a photo from flickr or change my account's association from Yahoo! Photos to flickr. It won't even let me delete my current avatar. Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

There are 2 different kind of profiles - the Yahoo profile and a profile that you can get to by clicking on your avatar. Since you're most interested in changing your current cartoon avatar with a foto avatar, I suggest to do the following: go to your profile by clicking on your avatar, click "edit my info", set up a 360° page, load up a pic (it has to be a .jpg, preferrably 48x48 pixels), mark "set as primary", save it and you're done! Note: your 360° profile picture will be stored on Yahoo, not on Flickr!

But beware: since a couple of weeks lots of users are having problems with the correct display of their avatars. No matter whether foto avatars or Yahoo avatars - sometimes they don't show up at all or they switch between 3 or more different old avatar versions. One female user even had a male cartoon avatar displayed she never created! It's another glitch in the YA system that hopefully soon will be fixed. So you might have to be patient...
