Question:

Profiting from labeling idea?

I came up with a marketing/labeling idea similar to adding the "no trans-fat" label on products which were always free of trans-fat.

My particular concern is that, assuming that I present it to a big company, what would stop the company from simply rejecting our idea and then using it anyways?

Is it possible to profit from such an idea?

Thanks.

  1. if your aussie, have it published online. It get's automatic copyright. Otherwise, go through the processs of getting the idea copyrighted if it's realy good. the first thing to do would be go to a solicitor with a non disclosure agreement (google it) and get them to decide whether or not it's worth going ahead.

    best of luck

this happened to me and i couldn't sue because there was no way of veriying that what i had written was indeed written when i claimed it hat (idea witten on paper). The company thought of the idea independantly apparantly. It was just a coincidence and they were in the same line of work.

i wasn't gonna make money out of it anyway cause it was kinda a charity sort of thing, but couldn't have hurt to be recognised (selfish me) = )
