Program to ping a server and call/text me if the server goes down?

Question

Is there a program that can periodically ping one or more IP addresses and then send an automatic text message or page someone if the server quits responding at all, or takes too long to respond?

forget about any program becoz u dont need that :-)

use an batch file like this:-

ping www.yahoo.com >c:\ping.txt

make exact syntax  like the above and save this as  a ping.bat extension this will make an file ping .text and save the result by ping command

nd ur done

goodbye

I dont think so,you could write a shell script for it using unix ,but I dont think any commercial program  is there for it

I spoke with our IT tech / administrator, and he uses a program called Nagios. Here is the link to their site. Hope this helps you out! =)
