It only took 9/11- terrorisom on their own soil, that the yanks woke up and stopped funding this illegal, murdering organisation.

Good point Pickle. You are right. Daily for over thirty years the IRA bombed anyone in the north of Ireland, in shops, cars, restaurants. No one knew if they would return that night. It was just anyone that lived in the north that was targetted. A few people here like Misty Blue fed this hatred and killing. Thankfully the military defeat of the IRA has stopped the violence for now. But as you say it took the same kind of terror just once to wake parts of America up. N. Ireland had it daily  funded by some Americans but mostly the extreme rebublican groups like Noraid, another name for IRA in America.

yes.......but in fairness the Americans had no idea whatsoever on the politics or feelings of the people of NI......many many IRA supporting American citizens have found themselves on the wrong end of a shoeing in protestant parts of NI as they spouted their misinformed garbage and they left still not knowing why they got a kicking

Your question is not quite true. It was not the US government that supplied aid to the IRA but an organization called NORAID, set up by the Irish/American citizens around 1969 to raise cash to buy arms for the Provisional IRA. Whether it was approved by the American government is debatable

i mentioned Americans giving fund raises to terrorist IRA the other day and go so many thumbs down just for speaking the truth.

if 9/11 had happened in any other country the news would have said "terrorists flew 2 aeroplanes into buildings this morning, no Americans have been reported dead...here's tom with the sports..."

then jay Leno and Letterman would have made oh so funny jokes about it during the opening monologues of their shows

No what makes my blood boil is Britain reneging on a promise to return the six counties,Bloody sunday makes my blood boil or go a bit further back the British shipping food out of a country where the people where starving and dying in their thousands.The only escape from the hunger was to flee, mostly to America.(Maybe now you make the connection)Or the unfortunate ones who desperate to feed their families tried stealing food from British storage points and were sent to Australia for their trouble.Their families left behind to starve ,never to be seen again and never again to set foot in their beloved homeland.

If the British didn't go around stealing other people's land they might have saved themselves a lot of bother and the population of Ireland would not have been decimated.

Would it make you more angry if you were aware that Bushes grandfather (president of a private banking family) funded Hitler before and during the war as well as building Germany again?  These private businessmen who own the federal bank Rothschild's, Morgans and Rockafellas started the 1st 2d world wars and funded both sides!  They also started the last depression and are implementing another right now.  They funded Stalin and Hitler.  America and Britain funded and sold arms to Iraq before and during the war!  Yes IRA too and any other terrorist organization around the world.  Because they deal in war the most profitable industry on earth.  There has never been a year in history where there have been no wars.  Anyway it is well documented that Britian was behind many of the public bombings in N. Ireland to provoke civil war.

US citizens funded them not necessarily the US Govt.

And yes it makes me angry that the yanks can't seem to keep their noses out of something that has nothing to do with them as they didn't live through the mainland bombing campaign.

how can anyone say the americans were not aware of the situation - they were fully aware as it made the front of their newspapers and their news programmes.  

As you say the americans did not seem to be bothered about terrorism until it happened to them - it does make my blood boil - they funded the death of many people and celebrated men like Gerry Adams - makes me sick but thats america for you!  Its their point of view or no ones
