Programme speech to text?

is there ment to be a programme where you speek into a microphone and the computer types the words out?? Is this compatible with msn??

There's more than one but I have used "Dragon Naturally Speaking". There is some setup required as you have to read several paragraphs into it so it learns your voice and accent.  It seemes to me that it worked better if I didn't speak naturally but spoke very deliberatly and clearly, it did very well.

It can issue windows commands from your speach so it should be compatible with almost any program. It was mainly designed for use with any word processor though.
