Question:

Programming answering machine on land line?

This might just be an incredibly stupid question with an obvious answer.

I want to set up my answering machine message like this, "Hi, blah blah blah, to leave a message for blah blah, press 1.. etc"

How can you do this? Do you need to pay? Set up another line? Buy a different answering machine?

Thanks so much!!

  1. Hi, a standard machine will not do this for you, what you are describing is in fact ACD (automatic call distribution) and for that you would need a phone system, or PBX (Private Branch eXchange).

I believe some computers can also run a program and record the calls to the hard drive, this obviously needs to be on all of the time to answer the calls.

    Hope this helps?
