Programs in California for high school graduates

I'm a recent high school graduate and I really want to move to California from Michigan and I want to know if there is any programs there that will pay for my room and board and also pay me I really would like to take college classes also because I'm aiming to get a bachelor's degree in psychology and become a psychiatrist. So if you have any information please let me know because I need to do this as soon as possible.

  1. Buy a copy of books that list available grants, scholarships, and loans available. Apply for as many as you can (even if you think you are just marginably qualified). My roommate in college was able to fund, room, board, tuition, and pocket money.


  2. Check out Americorps NCCC program-my son is in Perry Piont MD but they have Sacramento and Denver campuses as well-I think you have till sept to apply. They pay about 160.00 evey 2 weeks, room, clothing and board and you'll earn about 4,700 toward ant accredited college at the end of a year-he's loving it.
