Programs to wright computer software?

what are some good programs to wright computer software i have a basic understanding of how a program i written,i have heard some good things about java is it any good if you have any other names could you leave a link thnx

lol there's 100's of em, all depending on what type of thing you are going to program. you would want to start with java as it is fairly easy to learn and build from there to something like C and expand once you have a clear idea on how to program and what you require of the program.

Java is not very good, it's bad at using memory.

I'd recommend C or C++ (NOT C#)

Dev-C++ (from Bloodshed) will do fine for C/C++.

It's using the MingW32 suite which is a port of GCC.
