Prohibit, the prosperous prospect for the Qatar Prix de I’Abbaye
Prohibit has been blossoming this season, making his connections prouder than ever, not only with the financial spurting but also by winning numerous titles for the team which really was out of reach before Prohibit joined the camp. His next target is the
Qatar Prix de I’Abbaye.
"He`s in great form. He`s just done one bit of strong work since winning the Prix du Petit Couvert and he went brilliantly”, Cowell told At The Races
This season he has been ridden by Christophe Soumillon, Frankie Dettori and Jim Crowley.
Out of the eleven races this year, he has won three, once with Christophe Soumillon and twice with Jim Crowley.
At the Dubai Trophy on 10th February, Prohibit was to race against ten other contestants on the track.
At the beginning, he was in the rear, then rode 2 ½ furlong out, kept on with the developed pace and led the final 55 yards.
The runner-up of the race was Invincible Ash, trained by M Halford and ridden by G F Carroll, and the third position holder for the race turned out to be Michael Dods’s Barney McGrew.
Another entry by Michael Dods in the same race was Rain Delayed who finished in the end with J Murtagh onboard.
In June, Prohibit won the Ascot with some very prominent entries on the track that day. Sir Michael Stoute’s Kingsgate Native got hold of the fifth position with Ryan Moore and on the eleventh place was Richard Hannon’s Monsieur Chevalier.
Starting off with a good pace, headway over two furlongs out, rushed on and towards the final furlong he shifted right inside, making an impressive run for the wire.
Star Witness of Danny O’Brien was the runner-up with Steven Arnold onboard and Sweet Sanette claimed the third position with Jamie Spencer onboard.
The Longchamp on 11th September had entries like Tim Easterby and Robert Collet.
Prohibit broke with passion and was onto chasing the leaders towards outside straight after that. He was second and rode well over two furlongs out.
The final moments did build up pressure for him as he even bumped into the runner-up on his way to the finish line.
R Chotard’s Mar Adentro was the runner-up and it was Hamish McGonagall who was the third one to get done with the race.
Getting this title will improve Prohibit’s credentials while letting the claims and expectations of the connections materialise.
