I recently bought a projector and i am kind of stumped. i want to be able to watch tv through it, but do not have digital cable or any kind of cable box. the projector is in the garage where there is an older tv next to it with NO video outs! are there any devices i can purchase that allows a cable signal to plug into to something and change it into a composite/ component/ s- video to hook up in the back of the projector? thanks

  1. Your best option is to buy a HDTV Tuner, its not cheaper $$$, the samsung that I bought in a refurbished wharehouse was around $70 Dlls, but have DVI, Components, and others...

Your second option is to use any old VHS recorder, but is hard to find with S-Video or Component, but works with composite (RCA), just plug an antenna and enjoy the local channels.

    good luck...

  2. See my answer to almost the same the question at the link. Depending where you are you now or soon will need a digital tuner so while an analog tuner in a VCR or whatever is at best a limited solution. Also, depending on the resolution of the projector you may want HD rather than SD.

  3. use your dish network box, even a dvd player has a video output to play on it

  4. You can use a cable box, sat receiver, vcr, tivo, basically anything with a built in tuner.
