Question:

Projector has a purple screen?

I have an Epson emp-s4 projector that I use in my classroom. When I plug it into my computer, the output shows my computer screen like it should, except that it is purple. I have checked it with another computer as well as another cable and have found that the same thing is occurring. I know that the computer and cable that I used from another teacher works fine on their projector as well as mine does. This means that my projector is faulty. What can I do to fix this? I have checked the contrast, color, and tint, etc. and they all are set to normal. Is this problem correctable or do I need a new projector or a new lamp bulb?

  1. I don't know what kind of connection you are using but you might want to go into the input selections within the projector's set up menus. That purple screen might mean that you have chosen (or the projector's default is set to...) the wrong input type. Make sure you have it in RGB mode for computer connectivity. A mode such as S-Video may partially show what's connected to the RGB input. It really depends in the unit itself.
