Question:

Projector resolution?

I had an Infocus In24 (800x600) it seemed to do the job pretty well for classroom demonstrations. It got stolen and need to replace it. I see a lot of higher resolution projectors (1024x768) and was wondering if it worth it. I could buy a refurb IN32 (1024x768) for $528 or a refurb IN24 for $360 but its out of stock.

  1. Jombi's response is right on.  The issue of higher resolution - 768 is a non-issue except when projecting DVD's or video games and again, you are reminded of the fact that IN 2x DLP color wheel is not fast enough to eliminate seeing "rainbows."  Perhaps another choice of Infocus model such as the IN 72, 73, etc. would be more suitable should you want better movie and video options.

    Good luck!

  2. Seems like a great price on the IN24 if you can get it.  If the 800x600 is working good for you I wouldn't bother with the high res.  You'd probably see the difference if you are doing a lot of full motion video, but for PowerPoint kind of stuff you should be fine.

    Good luck
