Question:

Projector screen?

I do not want to make a screen myself. I am getting the mitsubishi HC1500 and I want a screen that is 106", not fixed, under 300 dollars (under 300 after rebate is fine) and is 16:9 format. I understand that the screen is very important, but I do not have unlimited money and around three hundred is the extent I can pay for the screen. It can be manual or electric. Please do not answer this unless you know something about projectors and screens. I want the best screen to go with my mitsubishi hc1500 projector.

By the way:

I'm putting this in my bedroom (I have a large bedroom, like 15x30 with 11 foot ceiling. Problem with projecting on my wall is that my wall is a very promenent green, teal pretty much. I figure this would probably throw off the image, will it? And I don't want to paint it another color because it just got redone.

  1. Absolutely the green will throw off your image so you have a couple of options.  You can use a paint on screen which is pretty much the only way you'll get anything decent for $300 at that size.

The only option is to build your own which I know you've already said you didn't want to do.  There is no screen that size for the price you talking about.  At least not anything worth a darn.

  2. A great screen is available through monoprice.  The gain on the screen is .1 off of a DaLite screen.  It is also electric.  You should be able to get it shipped with the remote for under $300.

Below is a link to the 108 in electric screen.
